Tom Holland talks about Spider-man’s future now that he’s back with Sony

September 4th, 2019 by Marc Comments

So, yes, I’m hearing that Sony and Disney are still in talks for Spider-man (here) but it seems that, while the fandom is struggling with the news that Spider-man in no longer in the MCU, star Tom Holland has made his peace with his future at Sony.

Holland, who has appeared five times in the MCU as Peter Parker/Spider-man was always tied to Sony, but now he’s under the soul ownership of Spidey and, as such, the character will move ahead as played by Holland but there’s no more young Iron Man type crossovers.

But the young star is keen to make it clear that, don’t panic, the story is going to continue (and I still firmly believe it will pick up at the end of Far From Home).

“There’s definitely more to come. We sat down with some of our creatives. We pitched Spider-Man 3, which is going to be something very special, it’s going to be something very different. I’m just so grateful that Marvel changed my life and allowed my dreams to come true and Sony allowing me to continue living my dream,” he said.

“It’s really exciting, the ideas we have for how we can expand the Spider-Man world and bring new characters into it, and crossover with other people, it’s really exciting. And it’s only going to get bigger and better from here, which is great,” he added.

Regarding the crossovers, it’s likely he’s talking about Venom, Morphius and the other Marvel characters that Sony are already woking on.

Into the Spider-verse, indeed…
