If, like us here at FTN HQ, you’re pacing the floor for the first look at the upcoming, new continuity animated Transformers movie, Transformers: One, then you may not have long to wait.

At Cinemacon tonight, the movie’s director, Josh Cooley, teased that a trailer was coming – see the witty post below because that’s Optimus Prime’s trailer from the original toy, see what he did there? –  and then we got the movie’s logo.

At the event a clip from he movie was screened and reports are that the animation is beautiful with hints of Spider-verse and Mutant Mayhem about it and that in the movie, as we previously reported, Megatron and Prime are much younger and are workers in the mines of Cybertron and, most interestingly, they don’t have the ability to Transform yet!

Lorenzo di Bonaventura drops loads of details on upcoming Transformers animated movie

We’re hoping/anticipating that a trailer will be coming very soon.

In a recent interview (here), producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said: “If you know the origin, they started as friends, and over time things devolved for them and they ended up on two sides. So we’re telling the young Optimus and the young Megatron story. We really are telling the origin story of all Transformers, both what they were at the beginning of it, to how they grow, to how they grow apart.”

Cooley posted the Tweet below earlier this evening:

And then soon after, we got this first look at the movie’s official logo:

There’s no date for release yet but we can tell you it stars Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion… that’s a hell of a cast right there!

Scarlett Johansson says Transformers One animated movie looks like nothing she’s ever seen before

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
