The BFG has the potential to be one of the summer’s biggest (ahem) movies and now we have a new featurette and a couple of very nice UK posters.

Entertainment One UK Ltd. is delighted to bring you the new official UK posters for THE BFG, Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated live-action blockbuster which arrives in UK cinemas on July 22nd.

The first of these introduces us to the Giant Country landscape where The BFG resides, trying to avoid The Fleshlumpeater, Bloodbottler and the other terrible, child guzzling giants.

The second takes us into Dream Country, the place The BFG goes to collect the dreams he delivers to human beans during the night…

Also released is a brand new featurette focusing on how Mark Rylance and Steven Spielberg brought THE BFG to life. Watch it below

THE BFG stars Academy Award winner Mark Rylance as the Big Friendly Giant and newcomer Ruby Barnhill as Sophie.

“The BFG” is the exciting tale of a young London girl and the mysterious Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. Based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, “The BFG” (Big Friendly Giant) was published in 1982 and has been enchanting readers of all ages ever since. Dahl’s books, which also include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “James and the Giant Peach,” “Matilda” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” are currently available in 58 languages and have sold over 200 million copies worldwide.

THE BFG arrives in UK cinemas on July 22nd.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
