Tyrese Gibson confirms he’s still hopeful for the Green Lantern role

March 27th, 2016 by Marc Comments

It looks like Tyrese Gibson is still hopeful that he could be in with a shot to play the Green Lantern in the now well underway DC Cinematic Universe.

Speaking to Larry King (see the video below), the actor confirmed that he has spoken to Warner Bros and is still in the running.

Larry King asked if he’d heard from Zack Snyder and Gibson said no, but added : “I did meet with Warner Brothers, though. And…um…shoot me a prayer, Larry.”

We reported some time ago that Gibson had spoken with Warners (here) but it’s nice to know he’s a possible Green Lantern.

King then pushed, asking if he has a chance and Gibson said: “I do!”

When King said he was a big GreenLantern fan as a kind, Gibson added: “I would love it. I’ve taken the oath. I would love to do it [and] I got the muscles for it. I can do 1,500 push-ups right now.”

It’s believed that Gibson is in the running for the role of john stewart with the rumour being that the movie will focus on Stewart and Guy Gardner.

We’d like to see Gibson in the role but we know that’s a personal thing. Would you?
