It looks like Sony is getting the ball rolling on its Valiant Comics’ shared cinematic universe as we have an official synopsis for the Vin Diesel starring Bloodshot movie.
The film will be directed by Dave Wilson and will co-star Sam Heughan, Eiza Gonzalez, Guy Pearce and Toby Kebbell.
The principal photography on the movie has already finished an now we know it’ll be an origin movie.
Here’s the synopsis:
After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both he and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought.
Source say the movie is aiming for a PG-13 audience, therefore aiming for the bigger market. This makes sense to me, personally.
Do you think the world is ready for another comic book shared universe? Is Valiant likely to garner the sort of attention DC and Marvel draw?
We’ll all know soon enough.
Thoughts?
