Since we already knew Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns were working on Something together (here) a while back, we’re not surprised at this announcement, especially after Kevin Smith confirmed it was happening

However, it’s nice to have it confirmed.

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed that they have a standalone Batman movie in the works to be directed and starring Affleck. Presumably this is the one he and Geoff Johns are also writing together: “It’s been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we’re looking forward to working on Justice League,” said Affleck.

After Affleck’s performance in Batman V Superman, we’re excited to see him step into the role again and given that we’re probably going to get a prequel to BvS featuring the death of Robin, Joker, Red Hood and many other aspects, it’s safe to say we’re really excited to see where Batman goes from here.

Warners announced two untitled DC movies last week set for October 5th, 2018 and November 1st, 2019. We’re reckoning it’s a safe bet one of these will be Batman.

Excited? Disappointed? Sound off below…
