Was The Abomination Almost in Avengers 2?

If you recall, the first two movies of the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe were Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Curiously though, no character (save for Hulk himself, who is played by a different actor) from that movie has appeared in any of the other films. In fact, aside from a few small mentions, the movie is barely referenced.

Apparently though, that trend was almost broken for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, as The Abomination (the villain from the movie) was slated to come back at first, or at least according to Tim Roth.

“They were going to do it,” Roth said. “They did do that. They were thinking, in The Avengers 2 or something. There was a movie we could do that at one point, but way back when. It just kind of got swept under the carpet I guess. That would be hilarious.”

It’s sad really that Hulk isn’t getting more love in the films. Phase 3 (at the moment) has no Hulk solo film, and there’s not even a rumor that he will appear in one of the Phase 3 films either. What’s a green giant to do right?
