If, like us, you’re excited for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in cinemas on Dec 5th, then I have another little treat for all you Bride fans.
Tarantino has teamed up with Fortnight (ugh) to release an animated short, written and directed by him, called Yuki’s Revenge and it’s 100% canon to the story as it was a segment Tarantino had to leave out of the original movie.
The Lost Chapter takes place just after Chapter 5: Showdown at House of Blue Leaves, the climax of Kill Bill Vol 1, and now, thanks to Unreal Engine and Fortnight, fans will finally be able to watch it, completing the Kill Bill story (for now).
The Yuki of the title is the sister of Gogo Yubari, the deadly razor-ball-wielding school girl that Uma Thurman, returning to voice the Bride here, had to kill in the House of Blue Leaves, so you already see where it fits in the story as Yuki follws the Bride back to LA for bloody revenge.
At the Vista Theatre in Los Angeles, where the short was premiered, Tarantino spoke about bringing it to the fans after all these years: “Bringing this into Fortnite sounded cool and felt like a wonderful fit for the game world.

“I was waiting for when the time was right, and Fortnite was right — something cinematic inside a much bigger world.”
It is weird that the short takes place in Fortnite though, as it features all manner of weird characters in the background and throughout, including that walking Banana (Peely?), and the characters don’t blled blood but rather bright blu cubes, but it’s still a very watchable part of the movie if taken as an oddity.
Tidbits:
Yuki’s Revenge is based on an unfilmed chapter of Kill Bill that didn’t make it into the theatrical release(s), written and directed for Fortnight by Quentin Tarantino and featuring Yubari’s sister following the Bride to America to get revenge for her sister. Tarantino himself plays Bill and Uma Thurman returns as the Bride.
Tarantino revealed that when he sat down with Fortnite, he thought it was just for a chat about his characters appearing in the game, but it was bigger than that “they want to get my ideas about what will be a fun thing to do,” he said, revealing that they actually wanted an eight-12 minute short to feature.
“I actually thought maybe the ship had sailed as far as, like doing new material. I was wrong.” He said, “When I wrote the first draft of the script, there was a lost chapter that, frankly, I just didn’t think we could pull off. And Yuki has been a figment of my imagination for over 20 years.”

With the crossover, Tarantino said, “I want both the ‘Kill Bill’ fan and the Fortnite fan to be totally effing happy about this collaboration.”
The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge will premiere on Fortnite on Sunday, November 30th.

Lionsgate opens Tarantino’s‘ “The Whole Bloody Affair,” the four-hour cut (281 minutes with a 15 minute intermission) that combines “Kill Bill Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill Vol. 2″ into a single feature, in theaters on Dec. 5.
Thurman stars as The Bride, left for dead after her former boss and lover Bill ambushes her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child. To exact her vengeance, she must first hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before confronting Bill himself.
“The Whole Bloody Affair” stars Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks, and David Carradine as Bill. Produced by Lawrence Bender, it’s written and directed by Tarantino, and is based on the character of “The Bride” created by Q&U (Quentin and Uma).
