Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur star Charlie Hunnam was asked in March if he would ever play a comic book character and he seemed less than enthusiastic about the idea.
The actor is a longtime fan favourite to play Green Arrow in the DC Cinematic Universe but he had no interest in the idea: “I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films. It’s just not really my taste. I must confess I don’t really know who the Green Arrow is. It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to.”
However, the actor seems to have a change of heart. In a new interview with Brazilian website Omelete (below), the actor took interest in the idea of playing Green Arrow and even asked DC to get in touch.
It might be argued that the change of heart came form his new movie (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which we really liked) being projected to be a big loser for Warners with a predicted loss of $150m. Ouch.
The movie was meant to be the first chapter in a new franchise but if word on the street is right then we can kiss those goodbye.
Anyway, here’s what he had to say…
