Following in the footsteps of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Angry Orchard Cider ad earlier this month, Drew Barrymore is also having fun returning to one of her most famous roles as Casey Becker in Scream, some 30 years after the movie’s release.
Barrymore appears in the new Halloween-themed JPMorgan Chase Freedom in the iconic wig and jumper that she wore as Casey in the now famous/infamous opening scene of Scream and this time she’s being stalked by a Ghostface who is… Kevin Hart (so she’s perfectly safe, worry not)!

It’s a fun ad and doesn’t poke fun so much as celebrate the original movie in which Barrymore’s character may not have lasted too long but she left quite an impression.
Talking about her famous death scene in 2023, Barrymore, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, suggested that she might be able to return to the franchise, despite having been gutted and hung on her home’s front lawn.

“I’m pretty sure a C-section is comparable to what happened to her [Casey],” she said, “Like, literally. And I’m here! I’m fine! So, maybe Casey Becker will be okay. With good writing, you can make anything happen.”
Look, Casey isn’t coming back – and neither is Gellar’s Cici from Scream 2 – but as long as the stars are happy to celebrate these movies and have fun with their legacy, then I am 100% behind it.
