WATCH: Green and Red Band trailers drop for Evil Dead Rise and they do not disappoint!

Any fear you had that Lee Cronin’s new Evil Dead movie, Evil Dead Rise, may not go as hard as the original or Fede Alvarez’s criminally overlooked 2013 reboot, then rest assured, you can sleep easy.

After the creepy teaser last night (here), the first trailer(s) arrived and they are very, very cool.

The Green Band trailer is, obviously, a bit more laid back but the Red Band, bottom, goes hard and should leave little doubt this movie will not be afraid to get its gory little hands dirty and it should be celebrated for that.

I was worried that this might lean into the funnier, more camp Evil Dead II and Army of the Dead but, nope, this is hardcore horror.

See all you Deadites in April in the front row. Bring an umbrella.

The movie stars Nell Fisher, Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Mia Challis, Jayden Daniels, Tai Wano, and Billy Reynolds-McCarthy co-star.

A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

“Evil Dead Rise” is slated to open in cinemas on April 21st 2023.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
