WATCH: New Iron Man deleted scene hints at Spider-man and the X-Men

In the aftermath of the whole ‘Spider-Man is out of the MCU’ debacle, a new deleted scene going waaaaaay back to the first Iron Man has emerged that hints at a complete Marvel Universe long before it was a thing.

In the clip (below) revealed at the Saturn Awards last night, MCU boss Kevin Feige posts a different version of the post credit scene where Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury introduces Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark to the Avengers Inititative.

In the clip Fury says he has enough to deal with already including radio-active bug bites and mutants.

Now, this is interesting as going way, way back there were rumours that the MCU and Sam Raimi’s Spider-man movie might be looking at coming together, with some rumours even going so far as to say that Stark may have helped Otto Octavius construct his robot arms.

If this is true, was Marvel also looking at trying to join up with Fox’s X-Men? Who knows, but it’s an interesting clip, that’s for sure.

It’s definitely not just a play to try to get us to double-dip for the Infinity Saga boxset. Nope, it’s certainly not that…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
