WATCH: Trailer drops for Venom: The Last Dance and it’s confusing as heck

June 4th, 2024 by Marc Comments

In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

This is a very confusing trailer… firstly, Rhys Ifans is in it and it doesn’t look like he’s playing Curt Connors AKA The Lizard from the Andrew Garfield Spider-man movie and the MCU; next, Chiwetel Ejiofor is in it as military person who is hunting Venom and, in the movie, we see him capture the Venom sample left behind in Spider-man: No Way Home which makes no sense as that sample was in the MCU, not the Venom universe but if it’s in the MCU, then Chiwetel Ejiofor already plays Karl Mordo, enemy of Doctor Strange. I dunno, maybe there will be an explanation but this feels like Micheal Keaton’s Vulture appearing at the end of Morbius with not even a smidge of a plan as to how or why.

Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham.

The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.

Venom: The Last Dance hits cinemas on 25th October 2024.

Kevin Feige seems optimistic that Spider-man and Venom will meet in the movies… at some point

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
