WATCH: Trailer for Pet Sematary: Bloodlines has X-Files’ Duchovny resurrecting the dead

September 13th, 2023 by Marc Comments

Looks like we’re set for a spooky Halloween as the trailer, below, arrives for the prequel to Pet Sematary (2019), called Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, the movie takes the spooky action back to 1969.

However, just before you click away, the movie stars David Duchovny as Jud Crandall, played by John Lithgow in the 2019 movie – interestingly, Jud was played by Herman Munster himself, Fred Gwynne in the 1989 [far superior] movie.

Honestly, if not for Duchovny, I likely wouldn’t be terribly interested in this, despite being a life-long King fan, but this certainly has piqued my interest now, I have to say.

Edgar Wright to co-write and direct Stephen King’s The Running Man

In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.

The film is directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer from a script by Beer and Jeff Buhler.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines stars stars Jackson White (Tell Me Lies,) Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Jack Mulhern (The Boys in the Boat), Henry Thomas (The Fall of the House of Usher, Gangs of New York), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs), Isabella Star LaBlanc (True Detective: Night Country), Samantha Mathis (Billions), with Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and David Duchovny (Californication).

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will premiere Friday, Oct. 6 on Paramount+
