May 28th, 2023 by Marc Comments

Ahead of hitting screens this coming weekend, we have two new clips from Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse and, as expected, they look amazing.

Following on from the events of 2018’s (five years!?) Into the Spider-verse, this time out we’ll meet a more experienced Miles Morales, the latest spider-man, and he’ll be meeting hundreds of other Spider-men and Spider-women across multiple realities as well as new villain The Spot played by the always fun Jason Schwartzman.

Early word is that the sequel is stunning and it’s officially my most anticipated movie of this year… Thursday night can’t come fast enough!

Check out the clips below.

Clip One: Miles and Gwen:

Clip Two: Meet the Spot

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most

Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham wrote the screenplay for the film, which features the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham and Oscar Isaac.

The film hits cinemas on 2nd June 2023.

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
