WATCH: We finally have the full trailer for Black Adam!

June 8th, 2022 by Marc Comments

As promised, the full trailer is here for Black Adam!

We were told yesterday that the trailer was coming and, true enough, here we are and it’s certainly… a movie starring The Rock.

I mean, look, it’s a fine trailer and I’m looking forward to seeing it, especially Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate but overall, the trailer looks pretty generic, I’m afraid.

And I guess it’s because we have had so many comic book movies over the past decade that it’s going to be hard to make anything look unique and this really isn’t doing that… but, at the end of the day, it’ll come down to the characters and story and we really don’t get much sense of that, although Adam’s story is a fascinating one and it really seems that the movie is looking at making him a hero rather than an anti-hero or villain as he’s usually portrayed in the comics, so that could be interesting.

Although I’m betting he won’t become too much of a hero as he still has to fight Shazam! in the future and, hopefully, Cavill’s Superman.

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani, the film will star Dwayne Johnson as Teth Adam / Black Adam alongside Noah Centineo as Albert Rothstein / Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Khufu / Carter Hall / Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel / Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate, Sarah Shahi as Professor Adrianna Tomaz, and Djimon Hounsou as Shazam. Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

Black Adam will hit cinemas on October 21st, 2022.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
