Ok, so remember three weeks ago it was reported right here that we probably had the new Han Solo in the form Hail Caesar! actor Alden Ehrenreich?

Well, guess what?

Looks like he is our new Han solo….

alden han solo

It seems the young actor is very close to signing on the dotted line – we’re guessing that’s why we got the tease of Solo’s gun from the original trilogy on Star Wars Day (here)

There’s also the rumour that Ehrenreich may make a cameo in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, presumably just to get us used to the idea on a Solo that’s not Harrison Ford.

Not a lot is known about the movie except that it will chronicle the rise of Han Solo as the galaxy’s greatest smuggler bafore that fateful meeting on Tatooine in Episode IV.

Bob Iger recently said: “This is the first of a set of planned stand-alone stories – we’re already in preproduction on our next one (Han Solo), for release in May of 2018″.

Do you think this is a good choice? Voice off in all the usual ways, guys…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….

What a dumb casting choice. Was Shia LaBeouf not available?
