OK, so remember George Miller, the director of the Mad Max movies – including the awesome Fury Road – was going to direct a Justice League movie in 2008? No, well you should, we told you about it here.
Anyway, it didn’t happen (obviously) but after Fury Road it was sort of resurrected in fans’ consciousnesses and everyone was wondering ‘what if?!’.
Well, we may yet find out…
Jon Schnepp, director of The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? (you can listen to OUR interview with him here), appearing on the PopCorn Talk show, says that he knows that Miller will be the man looking after Man Of Steel 2.
Where did Schnepp find out? He didn’t say, but we must say, given Fury Road’s success, there’s a good chance he’s in Warners’ good graces and the fans certainly seemed to want to see his Justice League movie, so this really makes sense…
In related news…
Remember we reported Miller’s failed Justice League movie was getting a documentary (here)? Well, that’s moving forward too, it seems.
The producers have approached the studio about making the doc: “It’s a nervous wait,” says director Ryan Unicomb, “George Miller and Doug Mitchell know about the project, so now it all hangs on Warner Bros’ involvement.”
Unicomb has already filmed interviews with comic book artists on the enduring cultural influences of the characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern, that would have featured in Miller’s movie.
We await their response with bated breath…
