It’s hard to think of a time when the Marvel Universe wasn’t around, or when DC was coming to the party with their characters as well. But it honestly wasn’t that long ago.

And though DC was second to the party, there was a time when they were close to having three of their major properties on the screen at the same time. In the span of a couple years, there was Superman Returns (which was an attempt to revitalize the Superman movies), Batman Begins (we all know what that started) and even an attempt to make the first ever Justice League live-action movie. Directed by George Miller no less.

The movie, called Justice League: Mortal, had a very interesting cast of characters, including Armie Hammer as Batman, DJ Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Common as Green Lantern, Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul, Zoe Kazan as Iris Allen, Mad Max: Fury Road’s Megan Gale and Hugh Keays-Byrne as Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter respectively, and Jay Baruchel as villain Maxwell Lord.
But a bunch of factors, including the Writers Guild strike, led to this movie being shut down in a hurry. But now, we’re going to get details about this never made movie in a new documentary from director Ryan Unicomb. They’ll dig into the movie that could’ve been, show off never before seen costumes and the like, and find out what caused this movie to fail.
