Word is Gal Gadot will be returning as Wonder Woman in Gunn and Safran’s DCU

While there has been nothing but confusion over the new direction that DC movies  shows and games, all dubbed the DCU now, will take moving forward, I’m here to let you know that, finally, it’s getting… worse? Oh.

So, while there’s been nothing concrete about a lot of this, it seemed that, after showrunners James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, we’d bee seeing a whole new Justice League with Ben Affleck and Henry Caville both gone for sure, Aquaman star Jason Momoa rumoured to be playing Lobo in the future, Ezra Miller’s Flash under question given his questionable legal issues recently and, then word was that Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman herself, was to go too, leaving a whole new Justice League to step up when Gunn’s Superman: Legacy hits the screen in 2025.

Gal Gadot confident Wonder Woman 3 is happening… but is she right?

However, it seems now that perhaps Gadot is not going after all.

According to scooper MyTimeToShine, Gadot will be returning as Wonder Woman for a future movie in Gunn’s DC.

Now, look, we’ve been blessed over the years with Lynda Carter first and then Gadot as Wonder Woman and both were absolutely perfect BUT if the Justice League members Superman, Batman, Flash (probably) and Aquaman are all being recast, then, sadly, Gadot has to be too or it’s going to be very confusing moving forward.

Superman, Lois, Guy Gardner and more… who are the main players in the DCU so far

Gadot’s second movie, Wonder Woman 84, was poorly received and writer/director Patty Jenkins walked from a third planned movie, however, Gadot remained a fan favourite and her recent appearances in The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a testament to that, but now that we have David Corenswet stepping up as the new Superman (here), it’s necessary to completely reshuffle and, as much as I hate to say it, Gadot has to go too.

Gadot recently spoke about her future in the role and, while it’s confirmed at as of now, Wonder Woman 3 is dead, she remained confident that her involvement as Wonder Woman was far from over, saying: “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

This is all speculation until we hear more official stuff as of now but it could be a blessing and a curse to have her back when Gunn and Safran take over.

Thoughts?

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram
