Among all the exciting – and, well, weird – stuff we’ve been hearing about the upcoming The Flash movie, we’ve yet to hear anything concrete about the appearance of The CW’s Arrowverse Flash, Grant Gustin, in the movie.
Fans of The Flash tv series will recall that in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event in the Arrowverse shows, Gustin met the big screen Flash, Ezra Miller, in a fun little scene that brought the Flashes together and ultimately led to Miller’s Flash getting his hero name – and likely the inspiration for his sleeker movie outfit:
We have been confident that this would lead to the scene – or one similar – being repeated in The Flash movie, but there’s been little news to back it up.
I mean, we know Micheal Keaton’s Batman will appear alongside Ben Affleck’s. We know that Miller will play two versions of Flash (although we’re sure one will be the villainous Reverse Flash in the end) but on the topic of Gustin? Nothing.
Until now.
Word is the TV star has been spotted on the set of director Andy Muschietti’s movie
While we have nothing concrete, it seems that, just as Crisis on Infinite Earths gave us glimpses of other DC Movie Worlds, The Flash movie will give us a quick tour through The Arrowverse too… which, love it or hate it, has to be at least slightly exciting news, no? Whether or not this means more than just Gustin’s Flash will appear is something we may not know until the movie opens.
Personally, I think it’s a no-brainer that they have Gustin appear, even for just a few minutes, as it’s been set-up now for a couple of years and, with movies like Far From Home doing big business, we reckon that there’s an appetite for movies like this.
Thoughts on this one? we’d love to see this paid off… would you?
The movie will explore the Multiverse of the DC Universe and will also see characters from throughout the DC universe appear, including another Batman in the form of Ben Affleck returning once more with Ezra Miller returning as the Scarlett Speedster.
The Flash is set for release on November 4th, 2022.
