Yes! Japanese Spider-man to appear in Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse sequel!

November 6th, 2019 by Marc Comments

This is awesome news! After finding out a few day sago that Sony are planning to release the Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse sequel in April, 2022 (here) we now have confirmation that one of the craziest versions of Spider-man to ever exist will be in it.

Yes, Japanese Spider-man will appear in the movie. Who? Check out this awesome clip with aliens, zords and so much more:

In the 1970s Japanese Toei Company got the rights to Spider-man and were able to make their own version of the character for TV and while he wore the familiar red and blue, there was pretty much zero other similarities between the two.

However, over the year, the oddity of Japanese Spider-man has become a much loved part of the character’s history and it will be great to see him interact with Miles and the gang.

The revelation came when a fan tweeted one of the first movie’s writers and producers, Phil Lord and offered to design Japanese Spider-man if, by some chance, he should appear. Lord simply replied: “He’s designed!”

This tells us a few things: Firstly, obviously the character will appear and secondly, the movie is already being worked on.

What say you all? Are you excited at the news? I want to hear your thoughts.

Here’s the original tweet:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
