UPDATED: Zachary Levi believes a Chuck movie is coming…

January 17th, 2022 by Marc Comments

We’re big, big fans of Chuck, the hit spy series from the early 2000s, and, while the series did have an ending, it was somewhat open-ended and we have been hoping for years, well, since it ended in 2012, for a movie or a satisfactory ending to the story.

And we know we’re not alone with star Zachary Levi pushing for a Chuck movie ever since the series ended and, last we heard, he seemed confident that we may have a movie in our future (here).

The series saw a lovable everyman, Chuck Bartowski, played by the equally lovable Levi, download a government database into his head, making him an instant superspy who went on weekly adventures with his handlers Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and his best friend Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and it was so much fun. Seriously, if you’ve not seen it, check it out, I promise, since you’re on this page, you’ll love it.

In two new recent interviews, Levi reveals that he believes the time is now for a Chuck reboot and it’s very possibly happening.

In the first clip, below, he says: “I’m making some real progress on a Chuck movie and I hope I’ll be able to announce something soon”:

In the next interview with Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum, Levi hints that there is talk, that he’s been trying to get the movie made from before the series even ended and he says, “Dude, I feel like the time is nigh… I’ve had some very good, promising conversations…”

This is all very promising stuff, in the age of bringing iconic shows and characters – Boba Fett, Scream, Quantum Leap and so much more – we feel that it’s past time Chuck and his friends got their new minute in this spotlight.

Any Chuck fans in the house? Would you like to see Chuck, Sarah and Casey back? I know we would and we want to hear what you all think…

UPDATE:

Today is the tenth anniversary of the end of Chuck and Levi was on Twitter to celebrate with fans and, once again, confirmed his optimism about more Chuck coming soon, saying “hopefully, there’ll be more on the way soon”:

Hold tight, Chuck fans, it looks like your favourite Nerd Herd employee is coming back…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
