The D&D franchise has numerous editions over the years and the friendship pony universe has several generations too that fans love and enjoy. The Hasbro toy company started this crossover collection initiative to bring different communities and fans together. Combining the lovely ponies with the D&D universe is just the beginning and collectors will get to enjoy the best of both worlds in one fun box.

Read on if you want to know more about the latest D&D and MLP crossover.

The Crossover of the Ages

The new Hasbro’s collection initiative has taken the world by storm with its amazing crossover of the ages, combining D&D and MLP worlds for all of us to enjoy. Most of the fandom ideas and combinations are mostly customized by the collector, but this Cutie Marks & Dragons collector’s edition was made entirely by the toy company and most fans are loving it. The box has 5 unique ponies, a special D20 die with unique MLP designs combined with the D&D logo, and a 4-panel dungeon master screen. The front of the box has a window-style packaging, showing you the greatness of each pony. The back of the box has the same designs and art as the 4-panel dungeon master screen. You can tell that these are high-quality collector’s items because they are quite heavy and craftsmanship is stunning!

Another Generation for Both Worlds

Fans from both worlds will get to enjoy another generation for both the D&D and the MLP universe. The D&D franchise started back in the 70s. It has the original edition and 5 other editions after it over the years. The same can be said for the My Little Pony list of generations and pony names. The franchise has 4 generations and it all started back in the 80s. Only 5 lucky ponies made the cut with this interesting crossover, but time will tell if Hasbro decides to make another collector’s edition with different ponies. The interesting fact that with this crossover, there could be a new generation in the works if people are excited about the Cutie Marks & Dragons box. It could lead to a nice series adaptation if a talented director and interested producers find a decent script for it.

Why Are People Excited?

People are excited about this crossover because this unique design might make the MLP universe slightly less girly. Even though the creators of these lovely ponies originally made them to target girls, many fans think that it’s too girly for their tastes. However, the ponies look a lot more appealing with this change. Collectors would love to get their hands on this box. One of the interesting facts about the MLP universe is that rare ponies can go for a lot of money if they’re discontinued or not available anymore. This unique D&D style of the friendship ponies can be quite valuable and an expensive collector’s item years from now. This is more than enough reason why some collectors are purchasing these boxes and keeping them for later. Even male collectors can be interested in the possible market for rare ponies in the future.

The Ponies You Get

Each box has 5 ponies that you can get and they are beautifully designed with dazzling cutie marks. These figures have excellent paint job designs and the creators went with the retro body style for each pony figure. Each figure has a unique cutie mark resembling the original character in the MLP generation combined with a class from the D&D universe.

You have Spinner Talltail who is the bard in the group, sporting a nice turquoise coat and she has a small lute too as an accessory. Then you have Valor Stronghoof who is the tough barbarian in the group, wearing a soft yet brutish barbarian attire and holding a shield as an accessory. You also have Mysteria and she’s the powerful wizard of the group, sporting a blue hooded cloak cloth. Shadow Star is the rogue of the group, sporting a dark facemask and she’s wearing a nice and sleek dark hooded cloak. And finally, you have Woodheart the Kind who is the druid of the group, wearing a nice green cloth attire with a nature-like style and you can see her blink bunny companion in the design too.

Overall, the pony figures look very unique and their designs look amazing. Sales are expected to continue skyrocketing over the next months.

Does This Crossover Make Sense?

Many fans might wonder if this crossover makes sense and some might argue that it doesn’t. However, you have one important point that you need to consider. Both worlds have something in common. This is the idea of comradery and it’s what brings all the fans together. The MLP world has the friendship style with each pony having a nice background story and the entire franchise is based on numerous things but the main one is being good friends. The Dungeons & Dragons world has the same idea. A group of friends that band together to face the different foes and slay mighty dragons. Each member of the group brings their set of skills to the table, depending on their class. Overall, it does make sense to combine both worlds to have collectors enjoy the best of what both the D&D and MLP franchises have to offer.

You have to admit that it’s very interesting to see two different worlds together. The D&D fandom will get surprised to see this little twist with the crossover. Collectors, children, and fans can experience something new and exciting. Even if you don’t agree with the crossover, you will still feel intrigued to know all about this box and the contents inside it. Think of it as an amazing gift to your children, grandchildren, siblings, or even your friends that are crazy about the ponies or the D&D universe. It’s amazing how uniquely designed the 5 new ponies are and thousands of people will enjoy owning these lovely toys.
