MattyCollector GhostBusters Proton Gun Replica Revealed!

July 18th, 2013 by Marc Comments

With San Diego Comic Con in full swing MattyCollector have unveiled some of their latest toys and figures, and it seems as though all of you major GhostBusters fanboys dreams are about to come true…

Yes, its official, the company that brought us the Ghost Trap and PKE Meter replicas has gone one step beyond, and released a NEUTRONA WAND!  Or Proton Gun, as its also known… For fans of the movie who just don’t have the time, energy or skill to custom build one of those faithful replicas which are plastered all over the internet, this is a dream come true.

Developed with Sony Entertainment, this authentically detailed wand delivers vibrations and a force kickback when blasted, light-meter animations on the base that ramp up or down depending on how high you’ve adjusted the proton stream setting, and an extending tip that lights up with orange, red, and yellow LEDs.

The wand’s buttons and switches are loaded with lights and sounds sampled directly from the Ghostbusters films, including the main power on/off switch and the proton stream on/off switch, length-adjuster knob, and “blasting” button. And if total protonic reversal is your thing, then you’ll want to cross the streams and see what happens! Fire two Neutrino Wands at each other and watch the lights change color as the light-up meter transforms to a unique pattern and new sounds and vibration are triggered.

How AWESOME does this thing sound?!  Its expected to carry a $130 price tag and will be available in Autumn this year.  Surely its just a matter of time before MattyCollector announce a Proton Pack?

And in non-GB related news, here are a few images of some of the other treats Matty have in store for us…

Holy 1966 Classic Series Batman Utility Belt & Batarang replica, Batman!

Matty are also expanding their well received and immensely popular Masters of The Universe collection!

Plus here we have a look at the Movie Masters Man of Steel twin pack Superman and General Zod figures!

With thanks to the MattyCollector Facebook page.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
