Get ready for the new daily show

Brian K Vaughan bringing Buck Rogers back to the small screen

December 12th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Good news for fans of Buck Rogers – aren’t we all? – as a new series is on its way.

The new take on the iconic sci-fi hero is being developed by Y: The Last Man writer Brian K Vaughan based on Buck Rogers who was created by  Philip Francis Nowlan in 1928.

In the original story, Buck was trapped in a coal mine and held in suspended animation and woke up 500 years later.

In the popular 70s/80s show Buck was an astronaut who falls through a space abnormality and once again wakes up 500 years later on earth.

Like the Y The Last Man series on FX, many have tried over the years to bring Rogers back to our screens but now, hopefully, it can happen

The series “is part of Legendary’s multi-platform approach to the Buck Rogers property. Aside from this “prestige” television show, the company is still developing the aforementioned film and an anime series. It remains to be seen how the show will connect to the movie.”

I was a massive fan of Gil Gerard and Erin Gray in the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century series so I would love to see a new take on the character hitting our screens… and yes, I’d expect it to be a little bit disco. Please.

Thoughts? I want to hear them, gang…

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
