Get ready for the new daily show

CBS/Paramount create Avatar: The Last Airbender studio for future movies/shows as Netflix get set to film live-action series

It looks like fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have much to look forward to in the future,

Viacom CBS have announced a new studio dedicated solely to the Avatar franchise, creating “original content spanning animated series and movies”.

ViacomCBS has announced a new studio based entirely around Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

Avatar and Korra creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are joining Nickelodeon as co-chief creative officers of Avatar Studios with an animated theatrical release being their first project and being set to begin development ‘soon’.

It seems that Avatar is set to be a big part of Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS’ new streaming service, Paramount Plus alongside the likes of Star Trek.

This is pretty exciting news as both Korra and Avatar were outstanding animated shows and gave the world Dave Filoni who is currently saving Star Wars with The Mandalorian.

However, it seems it’s not just Paramount+ that wants some of that sweet Avatar coin.

When DiMartino and Konietzko departed Netflix’s live-action Avatar series last August, it was assumed the project was dead in the water as there was nothing heard since – although we now have an idea why they left, as reported above.

However, a recent production listing (below) states that the series is still moving ahead and will begin filing this August as everything tries to recover from he craziness of that damned virus.

What say you all? Are you fans of Avatar? What are you most excited for? A new live-action adaptation of the The Last Airbender or all-new animated adventures? I know where my excitement lies…

Let me know your thoughts, gang.
