Oh this should make the Who fans’ day… we love this! Taking an image that is burned into the mind of Doctor Who fans and updating it? It’s ballsy, but it certainly looks like they’re doing it right…
The image above takes place in the finale of the upcoming Series 8 of Doctor Who, starring Peter Capaldi in the role of the Timelord. The image was from filming taking place earlier this week in London – got to io9 for more great images – and it’s a classic one.
The Cybermen marching down the steps of St Paul’s is a nod to the 46-year-old Patrick Troughton story The Invasion – the original image is posted below – in which the Cybermen invaded earth and we gotta admit, it gives us goosebumps looking at it. One thing is for sure, the Doctor will be revisiting his past in a big way this year.
