Friday The 13th set to stalk TV screens

April 27th, 2014 by Marc Comments

It looks like the ocean of reality TV is finally receding as a mass of new TV comes to shore. Well, when i say “new”…

Deadline are reporting that they can exclusively reveal that a Friday The 13th TV series is coming: “After slicing and dicing his way through a dozen feature films, Jason Voorhees is ready to slash his way to small-screen stardom. Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment have set a deal to produce a new hourlong dramatic series based upon the characters and settings of Friday The 13th. Sean S. Cunningham, who helmed the 1980 original, will be executive producer along with EFO Films principals Randall Emmett & George Furla, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment MM, Steve B. Harris of Diversion3 Entertainment, and Ted Fox of Fox Entertainment. Also producing is Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian, who produced the features.

“Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) have been set to script a storyline that re-imagines Jason in multiple time periods. Roy Knyrim (Gods And Monsters) of SOTA FX will coordinate the special make-up effects for the series.”

So, are you excited to see Jason Vorhees stalking teens at Camp Crystal Lake EVERY week? Will he be indestructible as he became in the movies, will it be a post-modern Scream-easque take on the series or a dead straight-faced tale?

Froday the 13th is expected to debut in 2015

He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
