The second BIG villain casting for Gotham in the space of a week has just landed on our desk. With Mr Freeze being cast first (here) it’s now the turn of the oft-rumoured for the show, Hugo Strange.

USAToday has reported that Jurassic Park and Jurassic World’s BD Wong, who played Dr Henry Wu, has been cast as the Batman villain: “Wong has been cast in the recurring role of Hugo Strange, a brilliant professor and psychiatrist tapped to head up Gotham City’s notorious Arkham Asylum.

“He’s hired to help the city’s criminally insane, but Strange has a nefarious streak as well: The professor is also conducting experiments on inmates and testing extraordinary abilities in order to create superhuman folks for Indian Hill. The underground Wayne Enterprises black-ops program was introduced in this week’s episode of Gotham as the secretive place where a badly burned Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) was taken after being captured by the GCPD.”

We think this is an inspired piece of casting and proves that Gotham has really found its feet this season and we can’t wait to see more characters and where they’ll take the show as this season continues to unfold.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
