Who out there wants to see more Jar Jar Binks?
Well, providing the rumours that the Obi-Wan series is in trouble are just that, then we may be meeting the much-maligned prequels (but somewhat redeemed in Clone Wars) character in the new Disney+ show.
A new rumour about the Debrah Chow directed Star Wars series has it that Jar Jar will cross paths with Obi-Wan again in the tale as a CGI creation once more but this time he will have a… beard.
No, really.
Now we know in the Expanded Universe pre-Disney that Binks had fallen on hard times on his home planet of Naboo and had become a very tragic character, so perhaps the beard reflects this idea?
There’s no word who will play Binks in the series, although the safe money would have to be on Ahmed Best returning to the role. Best played Binks on the prequels (and later in the Clone Wars) but had problesm coming to terms with a lot of the horrid crap he had to put up with from the ‘fans’, however, the actor is joining Disney+ for their Star Wars game show Jedi Temple Challenge (here), so he’s clearly back in the fold in some capacity.
Honestly, this is the series I’m most excited for and having Binks return wouldn’t seem like that much of a stretch to me.
