We reported a few weeks ago that new Doctor Who show runner Chris Chibnall mate stepping down next year as the BBC is forcing him to put out a series even though he doesn’t want to (here) and the rumour went on that if he goes, so too will star Jodie Whittaker.
But now Whittaker (here) is saying that she has at least one more season coming and, while this does technically fit into what we’re hearing, it gives us hope that she may get a chance to make more impact in the role.
“I really can’t wait to step back in and get to work again,” said Whittaker.
“It’s such an incredible role. It’s been an extraordinary journey so far and I’m not quite ready to hand it over yet.”
On top of this, we’re hearing that the New Year’s Special will be on at 7:00pm and will last an hour and, on top of that, we’re hearing that The Doctor will fight… The Daleks!
According to The Mirror (we know, we know) the Doctor’s most iconic villain will no longer have the armoured look the villains have mostly sported side their return for new Who but will rather be completely redesigned.
The episode will be called Resolution… is in New Year’s Resolution. Or perhaps there’s more to it than that?
