Oh, Lobo, Lobo, Lobo, Lobo…
Man, it’s been a ride getting this guy to the screen.
A couple of years ago it was believed that Danny Trejo was set to play the intergalactic bounty hunter (here) then movie looked likely (here), followed by him being linked to The CW’s Arrowverse (here), then Michael Bay was rumoured in talks to make the movie (here) and then, more recently, Lobo was teased at SDCC for the Krypton series (here)… and they are the first to bring him to the screen.
Emmett J Scanlan has been cast as Lobo, the last Czarnian (he killed all the others), in season two of the Syfy show, in what is understood to be a recurring role.
“Lobo has a genius-level intellect when it comes to matters of warfare and is a deadly adversary. He has superhuman strength and is virtually immortal. Lobo’s word is the only thing he hold sacred and although he’ll never violate the letter of an agreement, he might disregard its spirit from time to time.”
Scanlan is a Dublin-born actor who has starred in Hollyoaks, The Fall, Safe and even Constantine.
But, we have to say – although we’re biased – a Dublin Lobo just feels right.
It is believed that Warners arrested hoping Micheal Bay will bring the character to the big screen, but in the meantime we’ll quietly look forward to seeing him in any form onscreen,
Thoughts?
