The CW has released stills and a trailer from next Tuesday’s “Invincible” episode of The Flash and they feature a dead character.

Well, you know, sort of.

Yes Laurel Lance AKA Black Canary may be dead in Arrow, but she’s back – or at least actress Katie Cassidy is as the Earth-2 version, Black Siren.

Interestingly the images also feature Vibe and Killer Frost who we thought were dead.

The episode is shaping up to be pretty awesome and there’s something kind of right about Black Siren working with Zoom. Or is that just us?

After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary’s Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy). Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Iris (Candice Patton) and Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipp) are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom.

In other news, Kevin Smith has revealed that after directing last week’s episode of The Flash, he would love to write and direct an episode of Arrow and introduce a character special to his heart: “I would love to jump in for a one or two episode arc just to bring that Onomatopoeia character to life.
“That would be so badass – I created this character in the comics and then to do a live-action version of it that fit into their universe, fit into the run of their show? That would be exciting to me.”“That’s the one I can get my head around writing, but Flash, whenever they bring me back, I think I prefer somebody else doing it. I heard rumor that when I go back, I think Zack [Stentz, now writing the Booster Gold movie too] might be writing my script again, which would be amazing – we’d be keeping the home team together, so that’d be cool.”

Onomatopoeia was created by Smith in his run on Green Arrow and fought Batman when Smith wrote it. The character was meant to appear in Arrow in 2013 but Smith had said the character was unfilm-able… wonder will we ever see if he was right?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
