Ok, so we have to just accept that the Lethal Weapon TV Series is really happening.

And we know that The Last Boyscout‘s Damon Wayans sr is the new Mutagh and now it seems the new Martin Riggs has been cast too.

Rectify star Clayne Crawford will be the elad in FOX’s reboot series based on the Mel Gibson and Danny Glover movies.

We also know that Fast and Furious star Jordana Brewster will play Maureen Cahill, a Los Angeles Police Department hostage negotiator and in-house therapist who works with traumatized cops. Presumably this a variation on the role of Dr Stephanie Woods, the role made famous by Mary Ellen Trainor in the original movies.

Warner Bros. Pictures is producing the Lethal Weapon TV show, which will follow Martin Riggs, a former Navy SEAL-turned-police officer who moves from Texas to Los Angeles after the tragic loss of his wife and child. Attempting to begin a new life, Riggs winds up partnered with Roger Murtaugh. Murtaugh, who recently recovered from a heart attack, is on doctor’s orders to try his best to live a stress free life. Riggs’ devil may care less attitude towards life winds up clashing with Murtaugh’s hopes for some peace and quiet.

The Lethal Weapon TV show pilot will be written by Matt Miller (Forever, Chuck), who will executive produce via his Good Session production company. Lin Pictures’ Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie, Suicide Squad) and Jennifer Gwartz are executive producing.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
