Get ready for the new daily show

Marvel are considering a Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis series following fans asking for one…

You may recall last week that fans of WandaVision – which, if you’re not watching, is really rather great – jumped on to social media to cry out for a spin-off show in the vein of The X-Files.

The idea came when Randall Park’s FBI Agent Jimmy Woo met with Kat Dennings’ Doctor Darcy Lewis who are both a lot of fun in the show as they try to decipher what is happening in Westview, the town seemingly captured and enslaved by Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff.

When director/actor Stephen Ford took to social media saying he’d love and show with Darcy and Jimmy exploring the weird and wonderful side of the MCU he never expected the fans to run with the idea as much as they did (heck, we even mentioned it here) but catch on it did –  on top of this, Dennings herself has revealed that she will be back in the MCU and, should a spin-off series happen, she’s all in for it (here).

And now it looks like Ford has actually been given the opportunity to bring the idea to Marvel/Disney:

While Ford makes no secret of the fact that this is by no means a done deal, this would be too good an opportunity for Marvel to pass up. A weekly series with Darcy and Jimmy could explore the corners of the Marvel universe that might never get a chance to see the light of day otherwise – story or character too silly/scary/weird for the MCU movies? Send it over to this part of the universe.

Honestly, I would be very surprised if something didn’t come of this.

What say you all?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
