Original Green Lantern Alan Scott set for DC Universe’s Stargirl series?

July 30th, 2019 by Marc Comments

With the news from SDCC a couple of weeks ago (here) that Titans season 2 could be back when Swamp Thing wraps on DC Universe next week, we’re all wondering what other goodies the DC Streaming service has in store for us.

And so, we get to Stargirl.

The next original live-action series on the service, Stargirl could see the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, appearing, which would tie-into Stargirl’s origins with the Justice Society of America, the JSA.

This may tie-into a supposed character the series was looking to cast called Arthur Matlock ‘a powerful man, both through physique, mind, and heart, he is a kind individual who is quick with his fists whenever it is necessary. That also allows him to be a great husband to his wife Ruth and a great father to his baby son Ben.’

With rumours of Hourman and Wildcat appearing in the show, it seems that we may be set for a full JSA original’s tale… and that’s just fine by me.

It will be a fun juxtaposition to Titans, Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing, which are all pretty dark.

STARGIRL follows High School sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

Stargirl is being written and executive produced by Johns, and Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will also serve as executive producers. The series is being produced by Berlanti Productions and Johns’ Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series stars Bassinger, Joel McHale, Lou Ferrigno Jr., Brian Stapf, Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, and Christopher James Baker, and you can check out the official description for the series below.

Stargirl hits DC Universe later this year.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
