Hammer Horror is back with a new folk horror, Ithaqua, and it looks like it might well be a return to form for the iconic horror studio.

Yes, I know they kinda came back in 2023 with the terrible Dr Jekyll with Eddie Izzard, but that doesn’t count, plus this is a unique and new horror.

This is Ithaqua: the wind with teeth.

A remote 1800s fur-trade outpost is plagued by an ancient evil with an insatiable hunger for flesh. The cold is the least of anyone’s problems…

Directed by Casey Walker and starring Luke Hemsworth, Leenah Robinson, Kevin Durand, Craig Lauzon and Michael Pitt. This is a haunting folk horror experience where isolation, hunger and myth collide.

The legacy lives on.

Hammer Presents is proud to bring Ithaqua to UK screens, premiering at FrightFest this weekend, ahead of its full release in early 2027.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
