Other Star Trek: The Next Generation stars may appear in Picard series

July 19th, 2019 by Marc Comments

With all eyes looking towards CBS’s new Picard series starring Patrick Stewart, we’re all starting to wonder if we’ll see any of the other stars of Star Trek: The Next Generation appear.

And the answer is… maybe?

“Other Next Generation actor appearances are not being ruled out,” said Alex Kurtzman and showrunner Michael Chabon in a new interview, “The producers just want to make sure they’re not, you know, cheesy.”

Going on, Kurtzman adds: “What we don’t want to do is just throw in cameos… there would have to be an incredibly specific story reason [for them to be there].”

We already know Jonathan Frakes, AKA William Riker in TNG,  is directing two episodes in the show’s debut season, but it’s not looking like he’ll actually appear on the other side of the camera.

At the recent Lion King premiere Levar Burton, Geordi in TNG, said on returning: “It is unreasonable to assume that he doesn’t know those people anymore, or that he stopped talking to them. And if he did there’s good storytelling in why.”

Look, let’s be honest, if Picard is back it would be remiss of the original cast to not at least be appearing… what do you all think?

Let me know in all the usual ways, gang…
