Easily one of the biggest gets for Sony programming wise was getting the rights to Brian Michael Bendis’ ‘Powers’ series. The popular comic had been in the works for a while as a TV show, but it was Sony who got to make it a reality. Promising to be darker and grittier than other comic shows on the air, Powers had a lot of hype…and a lot of rish.

But, apparently fans and critics really did enjoy it, as it’s being reported that the series will get a second season.

“There is a lot to look forward to in season two for both new and existing fans of the series, as we broaden the Powers universe and bring even more of the fan-favorite characters and storylines to life,” said Jamie Erlicht, president of programming and development at Sony Pictures Television.

Though there is no official date for the return, it’s presumed it will be in 2016.
