The new live-action Scooby-Doo series is now filming and, as you can see above, we have our first look at Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy.

No Scooby yet? Well, it’s rumoured that this series will introduce the big friendly mutt to the gang.

Netflix’s live-action Scooby Doo series has started production in Atlanta, Georgia, and is officially called Scooby Doo: Origins.

The new poster is an homage to the iconic image of the Scooby Gang from the original animated series, left.

The series will star McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Norbert ‘Shaggy’ Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, and Paul Walter Hauser rumoured to be Scooby’s original owner.

A modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.

Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.

While this isn’t the first live-action incarnation of the Scooby Gang, it’s believed that this is a fully new take on the characters and is completely standalone.

Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.

McKenna Grace has shared a new look at her as Daphne:

The Pacific Rim story gets official sequel/ending in new graphic novel limited series

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
