Get ready for the new daily show

Scott Bakula no longer wanted for Quantum Leap reboot?

Quantum Leap without Sam Beckett aka actor Scott Bakula? Unless it’s amazing, it’s a hard pass from me.

A couple of weeks back we put out all the details we knew about the upcoming reboot of iconic 80s/90s series Quantum Leap and, not gonna lie, it all seemed pretty exciting.

Word was the new new show would a new team pick up where the original Quantum Leap left off and Ghostbusters star – and fan of our site – Ernie Hudson would have a big role in the series as a character called Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams who was in the original series.

It also seemed that the series would, at least in part, be about the team trying to locate and bring home Beckula’s Sam Beckett, with word being the creators were all fans and were in talks to have the star appear.

However, youtube toy and nostalgia commentator – and massive Quantum Leap fan – That Junkman, below, has tweeted that he’s heard from Bakula’s Publicist that he is not involved in the show and was not wanted as they were going in a ‘different direction’.

Ugh.

What this means, I have no idea and I’ve looked online and can’t get any more conformation on this story either way but, as I said above, any direction for Quantum Leap that doesn’t involve Bakula, is unlikely a direction I’m worried about going in.

Thoughts?

It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished.

Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

Embracing the iconic series’ signature blend of humor, heart, and history, this reboot expands upon the Quantum Leap universe, taking us on a thrilling journey across space and time, exploring the timeless notion of what it’s like to walk in another person’s shoes, and the enduring value of changing lives for the better.

Lee plays the lead, Dr. Ben Seong, a world-renowned physicist working on a time-travel project known as Quantum Leap who gets stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology.

Hudson portrays Herbert “Magic” Williams, a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap. Using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, Magic buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back.
