Oh, John Barrowman… you stole our nerdy hearts in Doctor Who, also lost us in the darkness of Torchwood and then won us back in Arrow.

And now he’s toying with our emotions again.

Chatting to Comic-Con HQ at SDCC,  John Barrowman talkied about getting Torchwood back on our screens: “I have a phone conversation on Monday to see how we can get it back on television,.

“The fans know me well enough, I’m only going to say it if I mean it and believe it.”

The actor went on to say that the best way to get support for the shows return was to get Titan Comics’ new Torchwood comic: “If you really believe in ‘Torchwood,’ get the comic. Get this series going, it’s like a Kickstarter. If you buy the comic, you’ll show your support … we need Captain Jack back on the screens,” he said.

“[In the new comic co-written with his sister Carole] we introduce you to the new characters who are aboard the Ice Maiden, where Captain Jack has been keeping all the destroyed parts of Torchwood from around the world.”

Oh, John, you’re not just saying this so we’ll buy the comic… are you?

We jest, of course.

Do you want Captain Jack and the Torchwood team back? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
