It looks like there are more adventures ahead for Seth McFarlane’s The Orville.
After being canceled after two seasons on FX, the show found a new home for season 3 with Hulu back in 2022 but there’s been very little news since that aired, however now it seems that it’s official with McFarlane confirming on The Mie Henry show that there’s more on the way, saying: “The Orville was a passion project, I say ‘was’ but I don’t really mean ‘was’ because there will be more.”
Between Family Guy, Ted and this, where does McFarlane find the time to sleep?
Borrowing heavily from Star Trek, The Orville started off as something of a send-up before maturing quickly into a cracking little sci-fi series that has, as such shows tend to do, found a loyal and passionate audience.

Back in January, one of the show’s stars, Scott Grimes, who plays Lt Gordon Malloy, said that before the Writer’s Strike last year, it looked like a fourth season was set to be announced: “Right before the strike, it feels like we were going to announce a Season 4,” before adding: “I think it’s a better than good possibility that we get to do this again.”
Looks like he was right…
Thoughts? Are you a fan of The Orville? Will you be watching a fourth season if it happens? Let me know…
