We finally have the first trailer for Star Wars: Andor, the Disney+ series telling the story of Cassian Andor, the Rebel spy played by Diego Luna in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The series is expected to focus on a darker side of the Star Wars universe that we’ve never really seen before but always knew had to have existed.
It will debut on August 31st with the first two episodes.
I think this could be the dark horse of the Star Wars shows on Disney+ and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it turns out to be the best series on the streamer.
The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.
UPDATE: Andor’s second season will film later this year, will be 12 episodes long and will lead us right up to the events of Rogue One
