Stephen Amell doesn’t think he’s done playing Green Arrow yet… but where might he do it?

Hmmmmmmm… does Stephen Amell know something we don’t about the future of his Oliver Queen/Arrow character?

Love or loathe the Arrowverse, there’s no denying that, over the decade he played the titular character, Amell became associated with Green arrow’s legacy and despite having left the role a few years back, his return for the final season of The Flash recently was big news.

The CW show – and the legions of others that spun0ff from it – brought the character to legions of fans, many of whom had no idea who Green Arrow was and, on top of that, the majority of it was really good with Amell wisely stepping aside before it all very much went to hell.

But could we see him back?

While it looks like The CW is set to draw a line under any remnants of The Arrowverse with Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights both looking at cancellation at the moment, we know that James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently rebuilding the DCU and Amell has been asked if perhaps he might be a part of the character’s future on the big screen.

While the star admits it would be difficult for him to play another character or a different version of Green arrow, he does seem confident that he’s not done with the hood yet.

“I’ve said this before, but there might be more fun stuff to do with Oliver Queen. So we will see,” he says.

When asked specifically if he was done playing the character, he critically replied: “I don’t think so.”

But if he thinks he has a future playing Green Arrow, yet The CW is finished with the Arrowverse, then there’s not too many options.

Personally, I loved the early years of the Arrowverse – though I stopped watching a few years back as the writing and everything therein had become almost unbearable, which is a real shame – and I always enjoyed Amell’s work on it, and yes, I can totally see him coming back to the gig but sadly, just like the Grant Gustin becoming the new big screen Flash rumours, I just can’t see it happening.

But one thing we do know for sure… he did not fail this city!
