OK, so back in Season 3 of Arrow, when Oliver seemed dead after Ra’s Al Ghul ran his sword through him, I had this mental fanboy theory where Batman would come into the show and train him to get him back into condition to be a better hero.
Yes, I want Batman in the Arrow-verse that much.
Well, now Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow himself, says that there’s always a possibility Batman and Arrow will cross paths and he absolutely knows who would win if it came to a confrontation.
Speaking at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, Amell was asked if he thought Joker will ever appear in Arrow and he seemed confident that anything could happen (in a world where Arrow, Flash, Constantine, rumoured Supergirl and the Legends of Tomorrow all co-exist, we can agree) in the new TV DC Universe: “Well, I mean, the short answer is yes, of course.
“Within the DC Universe, if they are in the DC Universe, if you were to ask if Iron Man could come to Arrow, I would be like, ‘Well, no, probably not.’ But of course, The Joker could come to Arrow, Batman could come to Arrow, Superman could show up on The Flash.
“There’s a whole myriad of options because again DC and WB have a slate of films coming up, and when those films happen, and maybe Arrow’s still around when they’re done. Or maybe there’s a change and people are just like, ‘You know what, let’s invest in something that’s doing well for us.’ So you never know.”
We still hate the idea that seems to be prevalent in DC/Warners that characters in the movies can’t appear in the TV shows (well, except for Flash, apparently) and would love nothing more to see Batman or Superman come into that world. However, since Batman is not best known for his social skills. the possibility of he and Arrow locking horns isn’t impossible… but who would win?
Well, according to Amell: “Me.”
Elaborating on it, he said: “What do you want me to say? Well, Batman’s more experienced and his costume’s cooler and Arrow’s just a rip-off, so Batman would win for sure? No, I would win, absolutely.”
It made us smile that he admitted Arrow is a Batman rip-off… even if he’s wrong.
Let us know your thoughts, guys.
