It doesn’t feel like it’s that long ago that we were pacing the floor waiting to see if Constantine would be coming back or even moving to The CW (last July, fact fans).
And here we are again only this time with Supergirl.
We reported last week that Supergirl may jump from CBW to CW last week (here) and now we’re hearing that a decision may not be far away.
Deadline report that there are talks in place at the minute based around the possible move of the show to The CW where The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow currently reside. With Flash having crossed into the show already, it seems like a no brainer for the show to jump ship.
The biggest issue is cost, with Supergirl costing a rumoured $3m licensing per episode. So now there are hopes that the price of the show’s production can be trimmed so a second season can happen: “At the end of the day, it is up to CBS Corp. chairman Les Moonves, who is holding all the cards in the situation since the company controls CBS and the programming on the CW, to make the call whether Supergirl would stay or not on CBS and whether it would go to the CW. Being based on a DC property, if it moves to the CW, Supergirl would remain solely owned by WBTV and not a co-production with CBS TV Studios as the original CW series automatically become.”
Either way, we’re expecting to know the outcome soon and have our fingers crossed that Supergirl will come to what must surely be her real home especially after CW president Mark Pedowitz’s has expressed regret about not going after the project when it was originally pitched.
If anything breaks you’ll be first to know. Well second, after us. But we need to write it so that seems fair…
