We know the Supergirl/Flash musical crossover is going to be a big affair (here) and, we’re not lying, we really wanted the role of the villainous Music Meister to be played by Neil Patrick Harris who voiced the character in the animated The Brave And The Bold series.

But alas, it wasn’t to be…

The role has been filled by Darren Criss, another former Glee star (above) like Flash star Grant Gustin and Supergirl Melissa Benoist.

Exec producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine“With our Flash and our Supergirl being Glee alums, how could we not have them go up against another Glee favorite like Darren Criss? We have been blown away by his talent over the years and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Music Meister.”

While this isn’t the actor we pictured in the role of Music Meister (below), we are still really excited to see what The CW does with these characters in an episode that will undoubtedly draw parallels to Joss Whedon’s famous musical Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode, Once More With Feeling.

The comic book crossover will air on Monday, March 20th and Tuesday, March 21st.

We can’t wait to see how this all plays out on screen!

Are you excited? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
