Thomas Jane was a good Punisher. I think we all agree on that. Sure, the movie missed the mark but anyone who has seen it will know that he did solid work and the short Dirty Laundry proved that he is more that up to the task, so we are glad to see more work come his way alongside Hung… maybe Marvel will take notice and get him into the Daredevil series?
Jane has nabbed the lead role in SyFy’s The Expanse, based on James S.A. Corey’s Leviathan Wakes book series according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series is “set 200 years in the future and follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective (Jane) and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.”
Jane will star as Miller, “a native of the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. Miller is a detective for a corporate security force operating as the law in the Belt. Ragged, in search of something even he can’t identify, Miller remains a dedicated cop with great instincts who discovers a newfound sense of purpose when he’s put in charge of the investigation into a missing heiress.”
It will be written and exec produced by Oscar-nominated screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man).
It will be ten-part series. No word on schedule or release dates yet.
